3D Rock

| Render Tree Usage

Shader Type: Texture Generator (Tool)

Output: Scalar value

Creates a 3D texture based on a coordinate input. This shader outputs a scalar, sends it through a gradient, and then mixes the result using a noise function with a high frequency.

Name

The shader’s name. Enter any name you like, or leave the default.

Coordinate

Defines the X, Y, and Z texture coordinates.

Diffusion

Defines how much the two colors are blended into each other.

Grain Size

Defines the size of the grains in the rock texture. For a more realistic look, keep this value low.

Mix Ratio

Defines which color will be dominant in the texture.

At 1, only Color 1 will be visible; at 1.5, both colors are equally dominant.

Render Tree Usage

Use this shader to drive a parameter with a texture effect anywhere in a render tree. This shader generates a texture that can be used as an Intensity value, a Scale value, or to drive any scalar Surface shader parameter (IOR, Bumpmap Factor, etc.).

Connect a Texture Space Controller shader to drive the Coordinate value of this shader.
