Shader Type: Texture

Output: Color (RGB) value

Allows you to use a vertex value or information to define the surface of an object. This shader is most often used to render color painting applied to the vertices of an object.

Name

The shader’s name. Enter any name you like, or leave the default.

Vertex Property

Specifies the Color at Vertices map to use. Click New to create a new CAV property on the object.

Alpha Only

When enabled, the shader outputs an alpha channel only.

Render Tree Usage

This shader is usually connected to the Surface input of the material node to make the color painted on vertices visible. It can be blended with any other material or texture using a Mixer shader. When connected to the Displacement input of the material node, any painting done on vertices will be rendered as displacement.
