You can display the values of attributes of objects and their components in the 3D views. This includes intrinsic attributes like area, volume, and point positions, as well as attributes controlled by ICE trees (see ICE for more about ICE trees).
The attributes that are available to display depend on the object and the data it has, and the formats that are available for displaying the attributes depend on the data type. For example, you can display vector [X, Y, Z] data in a variety of ways: as numeric data, vectors, points, etc. It’s up to you to determine what format is the makes the most sense for a particular attribute.

You can create multiple display attributes for each point cloud and display any number of them in the viewport at the same time. You can offset the data labels so that it’s easier to see when there are multiple attributes displayed. You can also display attributes for only a percentage or specific range of elements to reduce the clutter in the view.

• You cannot display attribute values on non-ICE particle clouds. • Per-component attributes cannot be displayed on polygon meshes that are subdivided using the geometry approximation method. |
To create particle attribute display properties
1. Select one or more geometric objects.
Note that non-ICE particle clouds and non-geometric objects like nulls are not supported.
2. Choose Get > Property > Display Attribute.
3. Select the Attribute to display.
4. Set Display As and other parameters as desired. See AttributeDisplay.
Hiding and Unhiding Attribute Values
You can hide attribute values without removing the AttributeDisplay property, allowing you to easily unhide them later.
To hide or unhide a specific attribute in all views
• Open the AttributeDisplay property editor, and toggle Show Values.
To hide or unhide all attributes in a specific view
Do one of the following:
• Click the eye icon (Show menu) in a view’s toolbar and toggle Display/ICE Attributes.
or
• Click the eye icon (Show menu) and choose Visibility Options. On the Attributes tab, toggle Display/ICE Attributes. You can set this option separately for selected and unselected objects.
Note that this affects both AttributeDisplay properties on objects as well as port value displays in ICE trees.
To hide or unhide all attributes in all views
• Choose Display > Visibility Options (All Cameras). On the Attributes tab, toggle Display/ICE Attributes. You can set this option separately for selected and unselected objects.
Note that this affects both AttributeDisplay properties on objects as well as port value displays in ICE trees.
Removing Display Attributes
Simply select the desired AttributeDisplay property in an explorer and press Delete.
