Notice to Autodesk Manufacturing Customers

In a continuing effort to provide high quality products, Autodesk has released Hotfix TS1070993, which addresses various issues with AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 and Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2008.

Hotfix TS1070993 download location

Prerequisites

You must have administrative privileges to be able to install Hotfix TS1070993 on AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 or Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2008 on Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home or Windows Vista.

Note: The above hotfixes will update all language versions.

  1. Double click the installer to run it.
  1. Once finished you will receive a dialog box stating that the update has been successfully applied.

To verify that the Hotfix is properly installed, start AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 or Mechanical Desktop 2008 and type AMVER at the command prompt.  A text window is displayed and should report "AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 Hotfix1" or "Mechanical Desktop 2008 Hotfix1".

Note: If your copy of AutoCAD Mechanical 2008 is part of a Mechanical Desktop 2008 installation, you need only to apply the appropriate Hotfix for Mechanical Desktop 2008.

Issues addressed by Hotfix TS1070993

The following AutoCAD Mechanical issues are resolved:

  • Fatal error caused by AcadmEx.arx failing to load.
  • Fatal error encountered after changing profile in Options dialog.
  • Structure entities get removed after opening drawings created from AutoCAD Mechanical 2006.
  • Structure entities get created during a REFEDIT session.
