This readme contains the latest information regarding the installation and use of this hotfix. You must install Service Pack 1 before you apply this hotfix. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document before you apply this hotfix to your product. For reference, please save this document to your hard drive or print a copy.

Some users have found that AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT may become non responsive while navigating, saving or closing a drawing file.

NOTE: You must have administrative privileges on your Microsoft Windows operating system to complete the installation process. You must also have installed Service Pack 1 before applying this hotfix. To verify that you have installed Service Pack 1, type "ABOUT" at the command line and check that the Product Version displays as F.107.0.0.

 

  1. On the computer where the affected product is installed, close all running software applications.
  2. Navigate to the installation folder and find "acbol.dll" and Acmgd.dll"
  3. Right click on each file and select Properties.
  4. For Windows XP, click on the Version tab, and for Windows Vista and Windows 7 click on the Details tab.
  5. Check the file version of both files is "18.2.107.0".
  6. Rename "acbol.dll" to "acbol.dll.org".
  7. Rename "Acmgd.dll" to "Acmgd.dll.org"
  8. Copy the hotfix that matches your operating system to a location on your local drive.
  9. Extract both "acbol.dll" and "Acmgd.dll" from the zip file to the install location.
  10. Verify the version of "acbol.dll" and "Acmgd.dll" is updated to "18.2.107.2".
  11. Start AutoCAD 2012 or AutoCAD LT 2012 and verify that it is running.

NOTE: You can restore AutoCAD 2012 or AutoCAD LT 2012 to the previous state by removing "acbol.dll" and "Acmgd.dll". Then rename "acbol.dll.org" and "Acmgd.dll.org" back to "acbol.dll" and "Acmgd.dll".
